      Spigot and CraftBukkit should be merged into one, since they are maintained by the same developer now. Spigot is supposed to be a high performance Minecraft server, but there are not so many patches to improve performance in Spigot now so that's why they should be merged and most of the patches in Spigot are for configurations.
