Using the old trick where you pushed a block with a piston to turn it into a natural block again, it is possible to duplicate Redstone ore using a fortune and silk touch pick. If you are not fimiliar with the trick, I can go into detail, but as it has been patched for diamonds/gold/iron etc. I hope it is a simple fix.
