Around 20:30 (logs) the server stopped resonding. Sending a lot of errors. The server got hacked by someone and the hosting says its not on their end. I have send the logs and my question is, what can i do against these attacks? Is this something to be prevented? (People on the server suggested he might be overloading chunks (https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Chunk) to crash the server). Thanks in advance,

1.8.8 isn't supported for several years now. There are know exploits that won't ever be fixes. So please update to a supported version. At this moment that's 1.16.3 |
