 Description

Server crashes upon loading a world managed by multiverse.

Steps to reproduce:

Launch your 1.15.2 server with the --forceUpdate flag make sure you have multiverse installed and a world managed by it, then shut down that server and then launch your 1.16.1 server in the same directory.

Note: I am using the Multiverse jar file that can be found on the spigot craft server.

 https://github.com/SpigotMC/SpigotCraft/blob/master/plugins/Multiverse-Core.jar

Thank you for fixing this.

Yes

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 26/Jun/20 ]

should I update my spigot version?

Comment by md_5 [ 25/Jun/20 ]

Closing as the crash is fixed and the other message is vanilla

Comment by md_5 [ 25/Jun/20 ]

Your crash is SPIGOT-5813, a different issue

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

same here with the stopping server message, and then I am forced to reboot the entire server.

Comment by Dagobert Duck [ 25/Jun/20 ]

My server is showing the message Stopping server after that error, and then nothing can be done with the server anymore. This is my problem...

Comment by md_5 [ 25/Jun/20 ]

The error message does not cause a crash.
I’m able to load the attached worlds to my server just fine.

It wasn't really a fix, just a small workaround. I was left with 2 worlds that don't work, so it wasn't the greatest solution I could come up with but it's the only one I have found so far.

Comment by Dagobert Duck [ 25/Jun/20 ]

This isn't a solution for me, then I have to wait for a fix... :/

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

I found a work around. First take all your flat worlds out of your minecraft directory, next move each world in the directory followed by the /mv load (worldname) command repeat that for every world until you find a world that crashes your server, then move that world out of your minecraft directory and repeat until all the working worlds are back in the directory. (Note: you may be stuck with a few worlds that won't work)

Comment by Josse Cottenier [ 25/Jun/20 ]

Yikes, so there is just now way I can upload a superflat world onto my server until a new Minecraft update comes out? That's a shame to say the least... :/

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

If it’s a vanilla bug, I think you just have to wait for mojang to fix it and release the next version of minecraft

Comment by Dagobert Duck [ 25/Jun/20 ]

And how to fix that problem?

I've narrowed it down to:
1) Your seed of -987174934016447961 + level-type=flat
2) Your r.0.-1.mca

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

I am getting that error too.

Comment by Dagobert Duck [ 25/Jun/20 ]

I have the same problem with my local test server which I want to upgrade from 1.15.2 to 1.16.1, too.

But I am receiving a UnsupportedOperationException for the Structures list in a world. (I don't know if it is in fact the same error...)

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

I can post the world if needed.

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

I just tried it again with the Icel world removed and it seems to now be happening with my redstone world (a flat world with some things in it, the world is called ramRedstone FYI)

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

Yes I am aware, it is a world I gave to my friend, and I don’t think it was ever used.

Comment by md_5 [ 25/Jun/20 ]

Did you create this world for this purpose? You are aware its a flat world?

Comment by md_5 [ 25/Jun/20 ]

I'm investigating

There is an MC bug here https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-191388 but I am unsure if it affects Spigot worlds only or Vanilla worlds too

Comment by Ramdon Person [ 25/Jun/20 ]

Oh, so this is minecrafts bug not spigots? (should I report this on minecraft's bug report page instead?)

Comment by md_5 [ 25/Jun/20 ]

This world produces the same result if loaded on Vanilla

My bad, I posted information that should of been in the description section in the "environment" section, but the bottom line is you can find the list of all my plugins at https://pastebin.com/dBRJVUZA and download the world that is having issues from https://map.voidcitymc.com/icel.zip (you will need to upzip that file, I was not able to post that file here as it exceeds 10 MB)
