 Description

On my server, I used pre-made books from Essentials (as defined in the books.txt file) to give new players a Book of Rules that had all of our rules written and defined neatly in a book.

However, since upgrading to 1.8, using these books has had catastrophic effects on anyone who has dared opening one. Whenever someone opens a book, it will instantly crash that player and remove them from the game. When they try logging back in, they will instantly crash again.

The only solution I have found is to delete their player data file from the /world directory.

This has become a significant problem for players on my server as there are hundreds upon hundreds of these books floating out in the world. Additionally, even the default Essentials "Color Guide" book crashes players, and I have someone who opened one last night and started experiencing the same crashes as our rule book.

Any additional information is available upon request.

Added something to try and fix the books broken by the previous versions

Thinkofdeath has worked issue 164 and I tested and confirmed that books now display correctly (colors, formatting, etc.)

The hover and click events do not work yet but do not cause any crashes.

Sadly, it seems that the latest fixes have no changes. I submitted the corrupt player data file to Thinkofdeath.

It does seem like there's a lot of issues with books. 164 seems more closely relevant, so I will link it as a related issue to this one.
