I have a HAY_BALE in hotbar slot 1 and a BURNING_FURNACE in slot 2. I drag the burning furnace to slot 1 and then I try to place the furnace. 
I get a hay bale in slot 1 and a hay bale gets placed. The BURNING_FURNACE item is gone.

But in vanilla this item works. I mean it has no texture but you can have it in the inventory just like any other item. |
