 Description   

Any version before 1.8.8 cannot be built such as 1.8

Exception in thread "main" java.io.FileNotFoundException: work\minecraft_server.1.8.jar (The system cannot find the file specified)

Downloading the server jar at https://launcher.mojang.com/v1/objects/a028f00e678ee5c6aef0e29656dca091b5df11c7/server.jar then renaming it in the /work folder works

I'm not here to use 1.8 - I reported a bug when I found one while making some tooling for all versions and is now fixed.

Versions that got patched can be found here: Spigot 

Also 1.8 is not the version you should use since it contains exploits, crashes and errors probably which got fixed with 1.8.8

I would like to note here that the Log4J exploit is not patched in 1.8, only in 1.8.8
