I have successfully installed BuildTools 45 and my server runs completely fine, all plugins are good and no data was corrupted. I am confused though on some things. I was reading about certain plugins and they only run on BuildTools 45, because it allows users to join on a 1.7 Minecraft Client and a Minecraft Client of 1.8, but now the server version is 1.8.8 and I am confused on how to set it so that both clients can join the same server.

I have seen many servers do it and I know you can, but was I going the right direction by installing BuildTools 45 correct? I tried the spigot-1.8.8.jar it gave me and it did not work and I also tried craftbukkit-1.,8.8.jar file to see if that would allow both clients and it did not work. Your help would really be appreciated.
