I was unable to login to the spigot stash to submit a pull request, so I created a patch. It preserves the original functionality in the event the system does not have an M2_HOME |

The maven version was updated 6 days ago and this has clearly gone unnoticed seeing as how easily it is to implement environmental checks in Java. |
