2 by 1 self closing doors don't work in the overworld or end, but work in the nether

On the server we have a piston door that is the same in the nether and overworld but when we changer our server from paper to spigot the overworld door stopped working. I went through a series of tests and came to this conclusion. If needed I can send clips of the door working in the nether, and it not working in the overworld and end.
